The best nude beaches in the world you should put on your bucket list

Traveling nude is much easier than you can imagine. Even though in one hand nudism is still controversial for some people, at the same time World is a naked playground. In every corner of our beautiful planet, you can find nude beaches. And every nudist I know has its own “top/best/on the bucket list” nude beach. Like everything, our taste can be very different in selecting best nude beaches.

I have made a little list of nude beaches that are on my bucket list, and see why you should also put it in yours.

 

1.  Praia do Pinho, Brazil

One of Brazil’s first naturist beaches, Praia do Pinho in Brazil is a popular seaside holiday spot. The beach is very clean, calm and silent. It is recommended for family and easy access by car. Full nudity is required by all. Unaccompanied males are allowed access only if they are current members of the International Naturist Federation and present their naturist passport.

2. Orient Beach – St. Martin

This is perhaps the Caribbean’s most famous sandy beach for nudists. It has a lot of od bars and restaurants. After it was hit hard by hurricane Irma in 2017 most of the businesses were completely wiped out. But you can still enjoy in crystal clear water and amazing powdery sand, or enjoy your food and drink under a rented umbrella.

3.Haulover Beach – Florida

This half-mile long sandy beach is packed with amenities, from lifeguards keeping you safe in the water, to security guards protecting against gawkers. The most popular public nude beach in the United States, Haulover attracts more than 1.3 million nudists to its white sands and warm water each year.

It gets most crowdy during National Nude Recreation Week in July and whenever Haulover is trying to set a new Guinness World Record for skinny dipping.

3. Little Beach – Maui, Hawaii

The best clothing-optional beach in Hawaii is along the soft white sands of Maui in a hidden, woodsy cove with big Pacific waves breaking on a turquoise shoreline. It’s every bit the Hawaiian vacation fantasy. Located in Maui, Little Beach is widely considered to be an unofficial nude beach, despite nude sunbathing being illegal in Hawaii. The nudity law isn’t really enforced here however, so you can enjoy naked in the waves.

4. Neve Midbar, North Dead Sea, Israel

Set at the northern end of the Dead Sea, Neve Midbar is a small, private resort with a section of the shoreline set aside for nudists. In addition to being the only place where you can smear the Dead Sea’s black mud over your entire body, this may be the only place in the Middle East where any kind of public nudity is lawful.

5. Playa Zipolite, Oaxaca, Mexico

Pioneered by Mexican and American hippies during the 1960s, the strand stretches about two kilometers with rocky bluffs at either end and is famed as a clothing-optional beach (although it isn’t legal here.)

While the main beach here is backed by budget hotels and cafes, a tiny sliver of sand at the eastern end called Playa del Amor offers far more privacy.

6. Mpenjati Beach, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

South Africa’s only official nude beach — and perhaps the only legal clothing-not-obligatory strand on the entire African continent — is located in the Mpenjati Nature Reserve south of Durban. Its legal status was achieved in 2014.

7.  Platja des Cavallet, Ibiza, Spain

This official nudist beach is separated into different sections, including a beach club party section, a gay scene and a more secluded, middle section where the nudists hang out. With the nudists, flamingos also love to gather on this beach.

8.  Wreck Beach, Vancouver, Canada

Wreck beach is on the western end of Vancouver. It is the oldest and largest clothing-optional beach in Canada. This beach was also nominated to be one of Canada’s seven natural wonders. There is no road access so it doesn’t get too crowded.

9. Patara Beach, Patara, Turkey

The longest beach on the often-underrated Turkish Riviera features soft sand and warm, shallow water. You can catch up on a bit of ancient history in this famous nudist beach: Patara is a mythical city known as “the chosen city” and founded by Patarus, son of the god Apollo. Patara beach is with about 18 km the longest beach on Turkish Riviera. It is also the nesting site of some resident Loggerhead turtles, meaning it is a protected site free from the development and perfect for naturists.
