You must have already noticed that I spent lots of time on water, rivers especially. Other than the special feeling I have when I´m in touch with free-flowing water there are several other reasons why I love rivers so deeply.
There are not many people on the rivers and it is a good opportunity for naturism
Nudist beaches and resorts are great, but if you don´t live near them you can probably only visit them during your vacation. And of course you feel the need to be free in the nature all year long. And from my experience rivers are the best to choose for this. You can be free, naked, enjoying in pure nature away from the people and the noise of the civilization, listening only the sound of running water, wind and birds. Does that sounds amazing? And trust me, indeed it is! 🙂
Rivers are one of the last redoubts of the nature
But other than the feeling of freedom there are also other reasons why I love rivers so much. The rivers are very often the last redoubts of the nature in highly urban environment. Not all but a lot of rivers have kept its natural state, all those plants and animals, high biodiversity on our wounded planet. Naturism is not only about being naked, but also being connected with the nature. And can you imagine better place for that than in pristine, wild nature that rivers are still providing us?
The rivers are therefore for me oases of peace and tranquillity. I love wandering around, following the tracks of the herons and otters, listening the sounds of the nature.
Give space to the rivers
At the same time, the rivers are threatened by development, damming, excessive regulation, pollution…
New science gives the rivers necessary space to breathe. The loss of the natural flooded areas have caused some intensive damages in the past and restoring such wetlands will improve our security. But also it will give us humans more space where we could feel the rivers, connect with nature and with ourselves. And it seems to me that there is nothing we need more than this.
